Morning Meeting

The Morning Meeting (9:00-9:20) is an opportunity for homeroom teachers to engage in meaningful communication with their students as they arrive at school.

The morning meeting format involves an exchange of information between the homeroom teacher and students, as well as among the students themselves. The objective is to cultivate a strong sense of class unity among students and show students the significance of relationships within the group. When used effectively, the dedicated time encourages each student to reflect on their own behavior, provide opportunities for self-expression and sharing experiences with classmates, and promote self-reflection.

A day at Millennium School begins with the Morning Meeting. The discussion topics are diverse, interesting and highly goal-oriented.

The topics for discussion are selected based on the class and the priorities of that particular day.

Mariam, one of the homeroom teachers of our school, shares her experience regarding the Morning Meetings: “The Morning Meeting has a clear, purposeful objective. In order to manage both our study session and the planned activities effectively, we plan the whole day together right from the start. This keeps students from becoming restless and anxious during the day, since they know exactly what to expect and can move through their schedule calmly.”
